Planning a program when public interest in a topic is higher than usual can help draw attendees to your program.
We hope that you will bring a Commonwealth Speaker to your community in 2012-13 on such occasions as:
|
Black History Month Women's History Month National Library Week Arts and Humanities Month |
February March April October |
You also might want to connect your programming to topics that are receiving national attention. The Civil War Era contains presentations relevant to the sesquicentennial. The Natural Environment examines global warming, the contamination of our natural world and more. If you have a working relationship with local media, a series could be jointly planned to coincide with special feature coverage in the newspaper or on radio and television.
Of course, we hope that you will apply for a Speaker just because you think they're neat as well.
