The Commonwealth Speakers program offers humanities-based programming to nonprofit organizations across Pennsylvania. Through Commonwealth Speakers, members of public libraries, arts and cultural centers, parks, senior centers, historical societies, garden clubs, etc. explore the ideas that have shaped the human experience.
The 2008-09 Commonwealth Speakers line-up features 88 speakers—selected for their demonstrated expertise and their ability to engage an audience. More than 135 presentations are offered in the new season.
You can download a preliminary look at 2008-09 speakers and presentations [43K PDF]. More detailed information on the speakers and presentations will be posted on the PHC site in late November. Catalogs for the 2008-09 season will be available in December.
Interim applications are available for those planning a January or February program. Downloadable versions of the application form are available [Word] or [PDF]. To receive an application by mail, contact PHC.
